I couldn't resist putting it together over the weekend. A great project - quick & satisfying! It is my first project using wool felt, & I really enjoyed the rustic texture of the wool. It is a very forgiving medium!
The pincushion is filled with silica sand & lined with a contrasting cotton fabric on the back.
I can definitely see myself stitching more of these. Another addiction in the making!
Oh this is gorgeous! I bought the very same one at the Quilt show in June. Yours looks so lovely...makes me want to make mine right now...lol Isn't the wool felt wonderful to work with? Thanks for sharing.
oh lordy! this is just adorable, i love it! i actually sent 2 emails to hatched & patched, enquiring about purchasing some silica sand for pincushions. she didn't bother to reply. needless to say she won't ever be getting my custom again. you've done a lovely job. julie :)
Ooh, I did a teensy bit of shopping there last Wednesday. I really do think it's my favourite shop. Lovely pincushion. I saw them and resisted. Next time I probably won't. LOL
That is beautiful! I am going to have to try that somemtime! I found your blog when you left a comment on Angela Yosten's blog. "Bloom" sounded cute so I had to check it out. Great blog!

That is too good to stick pins into. Really it should be displayed on a doorknob or something. Love it. Cherrie
