Has Christmas come early?

Well no, but it's not every day you receive something in the mail from the 'inner sanctum' at Moda Fabrics! Let me explain:
The lovely Angela at Moda Home Mom works for Moda as a Web Developer and started her own blog just three months ago. Having access to the Moda 'inner sanctum', she is able to share with us all the latest & greatest Moda news.
And she can give away GREAT gifts! As part of her very first giveaway, she offered the chance to win a collectible Moda hanky and tissue holder combo in return for leaving a suggestion about the Moda website. I love to 'wander about' the Moda site, drooling over beautiful new fabrics. I suggested a 'fabric archive' so that we can revisit older collections. And I was fortunate enough to win!
My handbag contents have never looked so pretty! But it gets better! Angela really liked my suggestion & has implemented the idea already! How special. Please visit the Moda Fabrics site, and check out the wonderful new fabric archive. Go lose yourself for a while! And while you are there, try the very cool Fabricmatcher and have a look at the free pattern page.
So Angela decided to send me something special because she used my suggestion.  I told you she was lovely! She sent a gorgeous red & white striped fabric-covered journal, a very trendy matching key fob & luggage tag set, all tied up beautifully with ribbon.
All Moda Home of course! And very special, as we see Moda Home products so rarely in Australia. Thank you Angela - it really did feel like Christmas had come early for me! All you Australian girls who I know love Moda fabrics as much as I do, please pop over to Angela and say hi!

Bloomin' lucky, that Bloom!

My first 'pleasure' parcel in the post at our new house arrived today (up until now it has been all bank statements & legal correspondence). The lovely Annie from Flower Garden sent me a surprise parcel in celebration of her 100th post - very exciting! She sent a gorgeous bag, made with a lovely soft red, floral fabric & it even has a pocket inside (high on the priority list amongst the girls in our household)! And the bag was filled with special treats: an Australian quilting magazine, some cute little pansy napkins & two cards made from photos of Annie's beautiful garden. I am bloomin' lucky aren't I?! Thank you Annie for your generosity & willingness to send a parcel off to a virtual stranger - you made my day.

Deadlines looming

I have been waiting on this very cute fabric to arrive in the post.

'Dick & Jane' fabric PLUS

these EQUALS ?

School is almost over for the year and I need to get a move on with teacher gifts. The Club Quilt Christmas party is only a week away, so the deadline for my gift is looming for that also. Had better get busy!

Has Christmas come early?

The lovely Marg at Marg Low Designs recently ran a most generous giveaway on her blog, and guess who was lucky enough to have won?! I am very partial to silver jewellery & it hasn't left my wrist since it arrived in the post on Monday. Thank you Marg and thanks also to Roz who designs this lovely jewellery under her Charli-Rose label and who offered this beautiful bracelet as a prize. You are both exceedingly generous. I confess I did take the opportunity to purchase two of Marg's wonderful patterns, Sew Pretty and For You Pillow. Her patterns are meticulously written (I love that!) & I look forward to making them up.

Exciting mail today

I had the good fortune to win these great patterns designed by the lovely Lyn at Moore Patchwork & Quilting in her blog giveaway. One is a very sweet cot quilt called Spring Fling, just perfect for baby girls. And the second is a versatile appliqued apron pattern. Please be sure to visit Lyn's blog and say hello.

What's in the mail today?

Ooh, look what has just arrived in the mail. I can feel a coffee & a read coming on. Really should go and finish the BAS. Hmmm, coffee or BAS - tough choice. Coffee is smelling good. delicious magazine is, in my opinion, the best foodie magazine in Australia. They have a great website here. (For international readers, a BAS is a Business Activity Statement, a statement of income & expenditure required by our taxation office each quarter - fun, fun, fun!)
