They grow from little tubers which are easily spread around when disturbed. Here, high up on the edge of the Peak District National Park in England they are very common in spring. As they die back to nothing, they add splashes of colour without being a nuisance. I leave them alone in my garden.Mrs Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07414772154514735990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179563292110008972.post-88183700709121617492014-08-05T06:29:30.305+10:002014-08-05T06:29:30.305+10:00Very pretty even in winter :) I think your little ...Very pretty even in winter :) I think your little yellow flowers are lesser celandine (Ranunculus ficaria), common in the banks and under hedges in early springtime in England. xAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179563292110008972.post-26422725537456607902014-08-04T22:13:05.970+10:002014-08-04T22:13:05.970+10:00lovely garden, particularly since it's winter ...lovely garden, particularly since it's winter there! We can't all flower all year round, too exhausting!
Lucky you told me the snow drops are actually snow flakes, as I would have called them white bluebells. A gardener I ain't :)
Have missed reading you, hope all is going well x xx
Kirsty @ Bonjour Quiltshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05177991521347107396noreply@blogger.com
